All I know is that there were rumours that...
...Zack Snyder's directing Justice League? We're all for it, if it's true. Though we haven't seen it yet, we just know he's going to nail Man of Steel and therefore we're enthused about his would-be take on DC Comic's answer to Marvel's The Avengers. Screenrush asked Gangster Squad director Ruben Fleischer if he was in the running, to which he responded: "Well, that's something that Zack Snyder is going to wind up doing."
...That Robert DeNiro is set to play Shia LaBeouf's dad in a new movie called Spy's Kid. Not to be confused with Spy Kids, which we'll happily erase from our memories until such time as we've got a brood of our own to entertain. As per THR, it'll be similar in style to Catch Me If You Can. D.J. Caruso is said to be at the helm, having worked with LaBeouf on Disturbia and Eagle Eye before.
Will they make for a convincing father/son duo?
...Lastly, we're hearing rumours that Galaxy Quest (which we really enjoyed) ain't over. Nope, not unti the fat lady sings. A sure-fire crowdpleaser, Galaxy Quest was quite the surprise when it hit our cinemas back in 1999. Despite being really bloody good, however, we never got a sequel, much to the disappointment of its producer (and Breaking Bad's producer) Mark Johnson.
Speaking to Flavorwire, he said "It's complicated... I can't get into it because it only gets me angry, because I'm so proud of that movie... For a while there, and someday we may actually get there, we actually talked about doing a television show which would be sort of fun because it would be a TV show looking at a movie that's looking at a TV show, something like that... So I wish I could answer you and I wish we did have a sequel or certainly a half hour comedy based on it. So we'll see, it's not over."
Would you like to see a sequel to Galaxy Quest with Tim Allen front and centre?
We'll take that as a yes.
