Will Ferrell and his Anchorman co-writer and director Adam McKay will produce an animated version of The Flintstones, say Deadline.
Chris Henchy ( who wrote The Campaign for the lads) will pen the script for McKay and Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions.
The cartoon of The Flintstones ran for six seasons in the 60s and was made into a movie in the mid 90s starring John Goodman and Halle Berry; the sequel, starring Stephen Baldwin didn’t go down so well in 2000.
Warner Bros. are the studio behind it, so expect a decent sized budget. No word on if Ferrell will voice a character or not, but we really hope he brings back Megamind at some point.
