Will Ferrell and Liam Neeson together in ONE movie? Well it's certainly an intriguing idea. Were it not for Neeson's comedic turn in Ricky Gervais' Life's Too Short, we mightn't have been as enthused. On the flipside, can Ferrell really do serious? Well, it doesn't really matter, because this is neither Schindler's List nor Anchorman, it's movie about LEGO. Neeson and Ferrell are the latest A Listers to sign on to The Piece Of Resistance.
This flick will centre on little LEGO man Emmett (played by Chris Pratt). Nothing more than the average worker, Emmett soon finds himself caught up in an exciting adventure after he's mistakenly identified as a special LEGO man, capable of saving the world (known as The MasterBuilder). A bit like Jack Frost in Rise of the Guardians, Emmett gets drafted into a group of misfits whose job it is to stop to an evil Lego tyrant from gluing the universe together. I'm sorry, did you say 'gluing'? Yes, yes I did.
And that's where these two new recruits come in; Ferrell and Neeson take on the roles of the baddies - President Business and his chief enforcer Bad Cop respectively. Evil LEGO partners in crime? Sounds ridiculously good to us.
Expect to see The Piece Of Resistance sometime in 2014. Also, expect toy stores everywhere to be awash with more LEGO movie merchandise than you could shake a stick at.
