Marcus Nispel (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th remakes) has apparently whittled his choice for the new Conan movie down to three buff chaps.

According to Empire Magazine, those are Jason Momoa from Stargate: Atlantis; Jared Padalecki of Supernatural fame, and Kellan Lutz from Twilight. Not a superstar in the bunch, which would lead me to believe that Nispel wants to throw more coin into the effects and action than a big name star.

I have no opinion on any of those guys. Padalecki is fine in everything I've seen him in; but I've never seen Momoa in anything, and Lutz had about three lines of dialogue in the first two Twilight films. Nispel had a bash at a sword wielding epic before with Pathfinder, which was utter shite. But he shoots a stunning looking film if nothing else, so with a decent second unit director this could, at the very least, give us some solid action.
