The Hollywood Reporter have published a piece lifting the lid of what sequels we can expect over the next couple of years, and there are some surprising ones in there.
The trade paper is saying that we can expect Man in Black 4, American Reunion 2 (or American Pie 5), Snow White and the Huntsman 2, Prometheus 2 and Ted 2 sharpish. It's obviously based on how well the first films in those possible franchises have done, and all of the above have done stellar coin. The biggest hits of the summer so far are Marvel's Avengers Assemble, The Dark Knight Rises and The Amazing Spider-Man; the latter was produced at a much reduced cost by studio Sony and they now have a more profitable franchise on their hands than they did with the Tobey Maguire starring flicks - which were expensive to produce. The most surprising entry there is American Reunion which did very well at the worldwide box-office. I do wanna see Stifler (Seann William Scott) again - still one of my favourite interviews.
We do have Total Recall and The Bourne Legacy yet to come this summer - so there may be more added to the slate.
