We've got an update on the much anticipated Dumb and Dumber sequel. Nothing to do with Dumb and Dumberer, whatsoever, in case you weren't aware. No, we're expecting far greater things from a sequel that actually involves the original stars.
Last year the Farrelly Brothers signed John Morris and Sean Anders on to pen the script and now, according to star of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Jim Carrey, filming could begin as soon as early next year.
With both Carrey and Jeff Daniels confirmed to reprise their roles as Lloyd and Harry, we could not be more excited about the prospect. "We're talking about it," said Carrey to Access Hollywood. "Jeff [Daniels] and I are really excited about it and hopefully next year we'll be able to do that."
Access Hollywood also posed the idea that his Burt Wonderstone co-star Olivia Wilde could make an appearance in the sequel to which he responded: "Oh yeah? You’re doing the casting for me now are ya!... Well, everybody should show up for this then. You never know, they could be in the movie. [Olivia is] wonderful though. She's an amazing girl. It's very rare when you see somebody who's so talented and so beautiful with the heart of a homely girl."
Who would you like to see in Dumb and Dumber 2?
As we reflect on what's gone down in history as one of the most endlessly quotable movies EVER, let's remind ourselves of a few of those zingers:
Harry: Just when I thought you couldn't possibly be any dumber, you go and do something like this... and totally redeem yourself!
Harry: I expected the Rocky Mountains to be a little rockier than this.
Lloyd: I was thinking the same thing. That John Denver's full of shit, man.
Lloyd: If I know Mary as well as I think I do, she'll invite us right in for tea and strumpets.
Lloyd: We got no food, no jobs... our PETS' HEADS ARE FALLING OFF!
Lloyd: That's a lovely accent you have. New Jersey?
Lady at bus stop: Austria.
Lloyd: Austria! Well, then. G'day mate! Let's put another shrimp on the barbie!
Harry: According to the map we've only gone 4 inches.
Lloyd: Don't you go dying on me!
