Mark Wahlberg has put his money where his mouth is and confirmed that we will be getting an Entourage movie when the eighth and final season comes to a close.
The final series of the hugely enjoyable show began in America last Sunday and on Sky Atlantic here on Monday. While doing press for the season everyone involved has been extremely vocal about wanting to make a feature, with the success of other HBO series, Sex and the City and the more recent success of adult themed comedies at the box office cited as a reason. Wahlberg said, "Well, I said if I had to finance myself, I’d do it. I certainly hope it has a chance to become a feature film, everybody always says the episodes are too short. [Viewers] want to go on a journey. The Hangover to me is like Entourage." Creator Doug Ellin chimed in with, "We’re going to do it. It’s a question of when and how quick. We’ll sit down and come up with an idea."
I am a huge Entourage fan, but the seventh season was utter shite. First episode back seemed to be setting things up more than going for laughs, but was still better than anything last season. Regardless, I'd love to see a movie version - for Ari alone.
