Well with a slogan like this, it would seem that Hollywood is trying to bank in on the paranoia of the States right now.
Based on Dennis Lehane’s crime novel, Live By Night is written, directed and co-produced by Ben Affleck. He also stars in the leading role. Lehane previously wrote Gone Baby Gone, which was Affleck’s directorial debut.
Set between the 1920s and 1930s, Joe Coughlin, the son of a Boston police captain, becomes disillusioned after returning from the war. He is attracted to the life of crime and comes to run a rum-smuggling organization, gradually becoming a notorious gangster.
Also in the cast are Brendan Gleeson, who plays Aflleck’s father, Sienna Miller, Zoe Saldana and Elle Fanning.
The film hits Irish cinemas early next year.
