We're going to go ahead and call it. The Christmas ads from this year have been a major let down.
The John Lewis ad was very underwhelming after the high of last year's 'Man on the Moon' ad and do we really need to get into the horror of the James Corden starring Sainsbury's ad? Kevin the carrot in the Aldi ad did offer some fun with its nostalgia inducing Home Alone music but overall it had been a disappointment.
Then along came Wes Anderson and Adrien Brody with this H&M advert to save Christmas.
Wry dialogue, deadpan looks and 'single take' set pieces are all hallmarks of Anderson's work and they're very much at home with the seasonal setting in this ad.
