If you haven't heard, Netflix are taking over.
Forget about all that content they acquired and let you watch for practically nothing. That wasn't good enough, so instead they made TV shows like Daredevil, Orange is the New Black, and House of Cards, and now they're dipping their toes into the world of film.
Beasts of No Nation is based on the novel by Nigerian author Uzodinma Iweala, and tells the tale of Agu, a child soldier torn from his family to fight in the civil war of an African country.
Directed by the man behind the camera for the first season of True Detective, Cary Fukunaga, and starring Idris Elba, who plays the role of an African warlord, the film will be the company's first feature length production.
Debuting on Netflix on October 16th, the film has already accepted into the Venice Film Festival and will be screening at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
This is just the beginning for the Netflix film department, with Adam Sandler's The Ridiculous Six following in December and the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon sequel, The Green Legend, scheduled for release in early 2016.
The list doesn't end there, seeing as the company has signed up the Duplass Brothers for four films, as well as the war time thriller, Jadotville, which stars Irishmen Jamie Dornan and Cillian Murphy.
