Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, released earlier this year, has proven to be a phenomenal success having made over $1 billion in the box office.
One element of the movie that earned particular praise was its stunning visual effects, as many of the characters, including the Beast, Lumière, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Maestro Cadenza, were CGI-generated.
This week, GIFs and stills have been circulating of behind-the-scenes footage which reveal how Dan Stevens transformed into the Beast.
And the comments are just brilliant:

And in fairness, you can see that Dan Stevens really put his all into the role, with a dedication that puts him in line with standards set by Andy Serkis:

There’s been both praise heaped on and fun poked at the actor:

We totally want to see this movie without the CGI now:
They ruined a perfectly good film CGI-ing this out. https://t.co/04dt1zsQcx
