There were plenty of strong performances this year in the Best Actor category that could have taken home the award at the Oscars on Sunday night.
Notably, Michael Keaton in Birdman, who seemed to be one of the favourites to win, but was unlucky to lose out to Eddie Redmayne in a strong field.
Keaton had shown up prepared anyway with his acceptance speech ready to go, but when Redmayne's name was called out, he had to casually slip his own notes back into his pocket and show his appreciation for the winner. That moment was captured by one of the cameras, and it's as unpleasant as you might expect.
Poor Michael, you can pinpoint the moment where his heart breaks.
With or without an Oscar, he'll always be Batman to us.
