"In space no one can hear you scream" was the tagline for the original 'Alien' film and that film was full of screaming so gird your loins for the planet-based romp that is 'Alien: Covenant', whose tagline is "The path to paradise begins in hell". And things look mighty hellish.
The Ridley Scott-directed return to the 'Alien' universe was always going to be brutal but 'Alien: Covenant' seems intent on making all your fears of space travel even more real. Combining elements of from all the films in the franchise, the mammoth cast in this outing includes Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride and James Franco amongst many others who, if the trailer is anything to go by, will probably all die before the end credits roll.
Here's the official synopsis:
The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.
'Alien: Covenant' is set for release on May 19th.
