The new trailer for The Raid 2 has landed, and sher, wouldn't you know it, isn't it only deadly

The Raid 2 sees the action escape the one building setting of the first, and out onto the streets of Jakarta, the story being picked up just minutes after where the original leaves off. Iko Uwais, who plays the films central character, Rama, now has to go undercover in an attempt to take down the big fish of the criminal underworld.

Resulting from the success of the first movie, the sequel to the cult hit has acquired a vast amount of hype, and if we're to believe any of the reports coming from early viewings, this is going to be the dog's bollocks.

Devin Faraci of Badass Digest had this to say after its Sundance premiere back in January.

'Gareth Evans is the greatest living action filmmaker. This isn’t even up for discussion; anyone who has seen Merentau and The Raid suspected as much, but a viewing of The Raid 2 puts the QED at the end of the whole argument. And with The Raid 2 Evans stakes an even larger claim, putting himself into the ranks of the great living filmmakers, full stop. There’s no need to qualify it with a genre at this point - he’s just simply a great filmmaker'

That's big talk. I suppose all we can do for know, is watch the trailer and imitate something resembling patience until it is release on the 11th of April.
