A new trailer for the highly anticipated The Killing of a Sacred Deer has been unveiled – and it is frickin’ weird.
Mind you, we are talking about the writer-director (Yorgos Lanthimos) who brought us the odd but successful The Lobster last year, and like its predecessor, The Killing of a Sacred Deer was warmly-received at Cannes.
Lanthimos' latest film stars Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Barry Keoghan, and Alicia Silverstone. Unlike what we’ve seen in its various teasers so far, this latest seems to reveal more about its story as Keoghan’s character warns Farrell’s, “They will all get sick and die”, referring to his family, and indeed we see his son collapsing and, later, his eyes bleeding (so if you’re sensitive to that, best not watch the trailer).
Could it be a horror film along the lines of mother!? We’ll see when the film comes out in Ireland on November 17th.
