She may already have one gold statue but that doesn't mean Natalie Portman has any plans to rest on her laurels.
Her latest film, Jackie, a biopic on the most iconic First Lady of the United States is wowing critics at the Venice Film Festival and should the film secure 2016 distribution, Portman could find herself climbing those steps to collect her second Oscar come February.
During interviews at the festival, Portman has been at pains to point out that Jackie is unlike any other biopic, focusing on just a short period of her life (the four days proceeding the assassination of JFK) and attempting to capture the essence of the person through that lens.
She sat down with Variety at Venice to explain what she and director, Pablo Larraín were attempting to achieve with the film.
