It's been quite a while coming, but the first trailer for the Deepwater Horizon biopic has landed online.
Directed by Peter Berg and reteaming him with Mark Wahlberg, Deepwater Horizon tells the story of the 2010 explosion on the drilling vessel that cost the lives of eleven men and caused one of the worst ecological disasters in recenthistory. There's a pretty impressive cast lined up for Berg's take on the story, including Dylan O'Brien, Kurt Russell, John Malkovich, Kate Hudson and Gina Rodriguez.
The film's original director, JC Chandor, left the project over creative differences, but if what we're seeing here is any indication, it looks like it could be something special. Not only that, its US release date of September 30th is right at the kick-off of Oscar season for 2017.
Here's the trailer.
