The name Tonya Harding might not immediately ring bells for anyone under the age of 30, but for those who lived through the era and remembers the bizarre story, this will ring true.
Essentially, Tonya Harding (Margot Robbie) was an American figure-skating champion who, along with her husband Jeff Gilooly (Sebastian Stan), hired a man to break the legs of her competitor Nancy Kerrigan (Caitlin Carver). Yes, really. This really did happen.
Robbie's performance in the film has already won her rave reviews and many analysts are placing her in the running for Best Actress next to Sally Hawkins in The Shape Of Water and our own Soairse Ronan in Lady Bird.
