Well-known for his career resurgences, John Travolta made his most recent comeback when he produced and starred in American Crime Story: The People v. O. J. Simpson. Now he’ll be hitting the big screen soon in another crime biopic.
Travolta plays crime boss John Gotti (nicknamed Teflon Don) in Gotti, which will chronicle the mafia king's life over three decades, including his relationship with wife Victoria, played by Travolta's wife IRL Kelly Preston. The film will also examine the mobster’s relationship with his son, John Gotti, Jr., who would follow his father into a life of crime. The character is played here by Spencer Lofranco (King Cobra, Jamesy Boy).
Travolta, of course, previously played gangsters in films like Pulp Fiction and Get Shorty, so it’s great to see him back to those roots.
No Irish release date yet but it's due to hit US theatres on December 15th, so expect it late 2017 to early 2018.
