There are some roles actors play that they'll never fully be able to leave behind.
Whether it's how iconic the role was, how influential and popular the show was, whatever - it stays with them and they'll do just about anything to shed it and move on.
John Krasinski, who played loveable Jim Halpert in The US Office, has been off our screens for quite some time.
He was reportedly in the final stages of casting for Captain America and lost out to Chris Evans in the end. Since then, however, Krasinski's been keeping a low-profile.
That is, however, until now. Krasinski plays one of six CIA contractors posted to Libya's CIA station who were caught up in the uprising against Col. Gadaffi in 2012.
With a director by Michael Bay at the helm, you can starting checking off the usual cliches:
- American Flag? Check.
- Explosions? Check.
- Military triumphalism? Check.
- Sweaty people? Check.
Look, we're not discounting this immediately. But come on, it's Michael Bay. How good can it possibly be?
It's an interesting story and, in the hands of someone like '71's Yann DeMange or literally anyone else, we might have a winner.
What we'll get, no doubt, is the usual mix of explosions, action sequences and flag-wavy Americanness.
