When he's not out being totally woke, Jean-Claude Van Damme is still able to kick with the best of them.
In fact, Jean-Claude Van Damme is still somewhat in the zeitgeist. For example, Donald Trump's favourite film of all-time is 1988's Bloodsport - a film where Jean-Claude Van Damme leaves the French military to fight in a no-holds-barred, fight-to-the-death tournament in Hong Kong. Not to be confused with 1989's Kickboxer - where Jean-Claude Van Damme fights in a no-holds-barred, fight-to-the-death tournament in Thailand.
Key differences there.
Anyway, Kickboxer: Vengeance is being remade because there is nothing original left on this Earth and sure enough, there's a first trailer for it that includes modern rap music, a list of well-known MMA like Georges St. Pierre and Gina Carano and, of course, Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Take a look.
You've seen Hot Shots: Part Deux, right? That's where they got the joke about the guy putting his fists into M&Ms and ice-cream sprinkles.
Also, Jean-Claude Van Damme's choice of hats through this trailer and presumably the film is quite interesting. Obviously, the film is a complete and utter smash because a sequel's already in the works called Kickboxer: Retaliation and it'll star Halfthor Julius Bjornsson.
We're assuming Halfthor took the role so that he could train properly for CLEGANEBOWL.
No Irish release date for Kickboxer: Vengeance has been confirmed, but presumably it'll be some time before the end of the year.
