Skiptrace is the latest effort from the dream machine that is the movie industry to entertain you with its ever-wearing thin ideas.
In fairness, Jackie Chan is a reliable bankable actor to include, given last year Forbes magazine valued his net worth at $350 million.
The martial artist actor is also no stranger to buddy cop movies given he played opposite Chris Tucker in the Rush Hour franchise and opposite Owen Wilson in Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights.
Knoxville is of course best known for the Jackass TV series and movies. He has also had a go at the action genre, having played Arnold Schwarzenegger’s sidekick in The Last Stand in 2013.
Skiptrace sees Chan play a Hong Kong detective while Knoxville plays an American fugitive. Smart-aleck humour meets no-nonsense martial arts skills as the two join forces to take down China’s deadliest gang.
While director Renny Harlin has been quiet for a while, his credits include Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger, and Deep Sea Blue, so he might just surprise us with what he does with his latest.
