Although Spectre seems to have fairly split audiences in two, there's one thing we can all agree upon - Sam Smith's theme song was pretty crap.
In fact, when the long-held rumour concerning Radiohead was confirmed some time ago, we all collectively rolled our eyes. Radiohead's beautifully haunting song would have blended incredibly well over the sinister and morally ambiguous story on screen.
Such as it is, we may never know exactly why director Sam Mendes went with Sam "Every One Of My Songs Sounds The Same" Smith instead of arguably one of the most original bands in mainstream music. Maybe that was just it - the song itself sounds unlike anything in the Bond canon and to disrupt it in this way was too much.
We'll never know. What we do know, however, is what the opening credits would have looked like with Radiohead's song - thanks to YouTuber Thomas Guitar.
Take a look.
So, thoughts? Infinitely better, to be quite honest.
The orchestra swells work so well with the visuals, as do Thom Yorke's ethereal vocals and the slightly off-beat drums as well. So much better. Instead, we got Sam Smith whining on for three months.
Such a shame, really.
