Yes, that's office horror. Horror set in a office.
Written by James Gunn of Guardians Of The Galaxy fame, The Belko Experiment sounds like a mixture between a particularly twisted episode of Black Mirror or The Twilight Zone. A fairly humdrum corporate office building is turned into a bloodbath when an omniscient voice comes over the speakers and orders the inhabitants to either kill three of their fellow co-workers themselves, or six co-workers will be picked at random and killed.
Pretty soon, the office is locked down and it's a case of kill or be killed for those inside. As well as directing Guardians of the Galaxy, Gunn also wrote the 2004 remake of Dawn Of The Dead. He also wrote the live-action Scooby-Doo films, but that's beside the point. Wolf Creek's Greg McLean, meanwhile, is in the director's chair this time.
As you can see, there's a bunch of reasonably well-known actors in there from TV, but the other interesting point is that The Belko Experiment is the first film released under the Orion Pictures banner in almost twenty years. Yes, that Orion Pictures that did Platoon, Amadeus, Robocop, Silence Of The Lambs, Dances With Wolves and so on.
The US release is set for March 17th, 2017 and it's hoped there'll be an Irish release in the near future.
