No, we are not living in a time-warp of the '90s, this is happening and there's even a trailer that actually proves that a Power Rangers movie is happening. Yes, the cheesy action series with the horrible acting and the amazing theme tune - here's a quick blast for nostalgia's sake - is getting a Gritty Remake with Real Actors.
Elizabeth Banks is set to play Rita Repulsa whilst Bryan Cranston will play Zordon. Random trivia - Cranston also starred in the ORIGINAL series as Multiple Man. Yes, really. Look up iMDB if you don't believe us.
So, why now? No idea, but we're guessing it has something to do with the fact that young children who watched the original series are now in their early 20s and have disposable income, so why not make a movie out of it?
