We totally forget sometimes that Lord of the Rings was actually supes violent.
In fact, the total death count - according to this video - is well over 200,000.
Now, we'd dispute some of these as definitely fudging the numbers - but it's interesting to remind ourselves that Lord of the Rings was A) totally amazing and B) super violent.
We also still get misty-eyed when we Boromir gets offed.
