The legendary comedian, known to a generation as the voice of Iago in Disney's 'Aladdin', is revealed as a soft-spoken, understated and humble man in the first trailer for Neil Berkeley's 'Gilbert'.
Fellow comedians such as Whoopi Goldberg, Jay Leno and Bill Burr all contribute to the film that follows Gottfried as he tours across America and also gives an insight into his famously secretive life as a husband and father, as well as his difficult childhood.
"Me watching it is kind of like, ‘I kind of think, this could be what hell is.’ You sit down, and the Devil clicks your life on the screen, and you have to watch it," Gottfried told Deadline at Tribeca. "I’m someone who, if you ask me what’s my favorite candy or something, I’m reluctant to talk about it. I keep most things secret, so to be revealing stuff, yeah—I have a hard time watching it."
'Gilbert' doesn't have an Irish release date yet, with the film only getting a limited release in the US in November, so this is probably one you can expect to find on Netflix and honestly, we can't wait.
