The first TV spot for Pacific Rim dropped today and the wonderful Idris Elba is at the centre of the footage.
Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim sees Earth attacked by aliens that come from the ocean. Elba plays Lieutenant Commander Stacker Pentecost who takes charge when it all goes belly up. Raleigh Beckett and rookie officer Mako Mori are picked to pilot one of the several giant robots designed to fight the aliens. The TV spot is a condensed version of the trailer which divided people's opinion but with Del Toro in the director's seat and stellar cast of Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba, Rinko Kikuchi, Charlie Day, Ron Perlman and Clifton Collins Jr, the film could surprise us yet.
