Twelve Oscars might be a stretch, but placing Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg together in one film is guaranteed by ancient statute that it receives at least twelve nominations.
Originally titled The Pentagon Papers, The Post follows the Washington Post's investigation into the cover-up of the failure of the Vietnam War that was overseen by four Presidents, led by Ben Bradlee (Hanks) and its publisher - the first female publisher, mind - Kay Graham (Streep).
So that's historical drama, two former Oscar winners, directed by Steven Spielberg, and it's also still prescient today because of all the crap with Donald Trump. Yeah, this should probably clean up at the Oscars.
Take a look. The Post arrives in Ireland on January 19th, 2018.
