He's spent so much of the last decade punching anything that moves in action movies like Taken and Run All Night that it's easy to forget that Liam Neeson is a damn fine actor when he gets the right material.
A lead role to really showcase what he can do looks to be forthcoming in Watergate drama The Silent Man. Neeson plays Mark Felt AKA 'Deep Throat' the whistle blower who helps Woodward and Bernstein with their Washington Post reports that brought down the Nixon administration.
The first footage from the film sees Neeson's Felt explain the sort of secrets he deals with on a regular basis for then FBI chief, J. Edgar Hoover.
The film also stars Diane Lane, Marton Csokas, Josh Lucas, Tony Goldwyn, Michael C. Hall, Tom Sizemore, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ike Barinholtz, Bruce Greenwood, Brian D’Arcy James, Kate Walsh, Noah Wyle, and Maika Monroe.
Given the scandal revolving around Donald Trump's recent dismissal of FBI Director James Comey, Felt's story really couldn't be any more timely.
