An update on Hollywood's Golden Age musicals, La La Land has become one of the most highly anticipated movies of the season.
Starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, the film won the award for Best Actress (Stone) at Cannes, got major acclaim when it screened in Telluride, and took the top prize at the Toronto film festival.
Set in Los Angeles, Stone and Gosling play two dreamers, the former being a café waitress/aspiring actress while the latter is a jazz composer making ends meet by playing in restaurants, but wants a club of his own.
They meet cute, fall in love, and continue to try to make it in the big city.
