American Sniper really does have a lot to answer for.
For one thing, it's made blindingly patriotic / machismo-action movies a thing again and it's ensured that we'll never be able to look at an American flag without hearing faint horns in the background.
When Michael Bay isn't having Transformers fight other Transformers, he makes small-budget action movies like Pain & Gain and his latest effort, 13 Hours.
Based on the never-before-dramatised story of the rescue of American embassy workers in Libya during the so-called Battle of Benghazi in 2012, Bay directs James Badge Dale from HBO's The Pacific and John Krasinski from The US Office. Yes, Jim Halpert is going to kill Islamic militants with a beard and 'Murica.
In fact, Krasinski went right down to the final two for the role of Captain America and lost out to Chris Evans instead, so he's got some credentials for the whole action business.
The trailer, of course, is every bit the Black Hawk Down / American Sniper / flags waving / explosions masterclass you'd expect.
The film lands in Irish cinemas on January 29th.
