Are audiences really hungry for a new spy/secret agent franchise in a era that already had James Bond, Jason Bourne and Jack Reacher flying high?
Well we're getting one regardless in the form of Dominic Cooper's John Stratton. Based on the series of novels by Duncan Falconer, Stratton sees Cooper's titular hardman team up with a US Navy Seal to battle an international terrorist.
The film also stars Connie Nielsen in an 'M' type role and TV's new Superman Tyler Hoechlin (who we spoke to recently by the way and is an all round nice bloke).
The trailer looks like this will be very by the numbers fair but the fact that Simon West (Con Air) is calling the shots behind the camera makes us hold out hope that this could be something a bit different.
Stratton should be in cinemas later this year.
