For those of you who don’t know, The Room is considered to be one of the worst movies (in terms of acting, directing, production quality, plot, you name it) of all time. However, it has gained something of a cult status due to it being just so laughably bad.
It’s now been 13 years since the film flopped and now Tommy Wiseau, who directed and starred in The Room, and co-star Greg Sestero have reunited for yet another strange, surreal project.
Best F(r)iends follows a man (Sestero) who meets a lonely mortician (Wisaeu) who takes him on a wild journey.
Directed by former wedding photographer Gary Fong, the film is based on a story by Sestero inspired by a road trip he and Wiseau took back in 2003.
The film was ‘shot quietly’ in August and September in Los Angeles and Canada. It’s been a secret up until the trailer was released via The Hollywood Reporter:
Meanwhile, New Line is working on a film about the making of The Room, which is directed by and starring James Franco. In The Masterpiece (previously called The Disaster Artist), Franco will play Wiseau.
