The actress has certainly been keeping herself busy since the show ended, starring across TV shows like Hannibal and in film projects like Stockholm, Pennsylvania (she starred in the latter as Saoirse Ronan’s character’s mammy, don’t cha know).
Given it is a costume drama, her latest film, A Quiet Passion, would seem to cast her far away from the role of the HBO series that made her a star.
However, as Emily Dickinson, she actually shows a similar attitude as that of beloved character Miranda Hobbes. The trailer sees her cheekily check out the men in the room, plus we can also see that rebellious, defiant attitude towards men in power which we always adored her for.
The flick, which is called a Quiet Passion, portrays the dramatic life of the famous poet until her premature death at the age of 55 in 1886. It is directed by Terrence Malies who is known for his restrained but haunting dramas such as last year’s Sunset Song.
