The debut trailer has been released for Cory Monteith's McCanick, one of the actor's final films before he sadly passed away last month.
In a sad irony, Monteith plays drug addict Simon Weeks, who has just been released from prison after being jailed for murder. However it's not all plain sailing as the detective who put him away is trying to track him down, concerned by a secret that only Weeks can expose. Monteith was determined to play the role of Weeks, director Josh C Waller recalls, 'In my mind, I was envisioning a teeny little drug guy [for Weeks], but Cory Monteith is this tall, strapping man, But when I met with him, he wanted to do it so badly. He was very vocal about his past, and said he wanted to tap into things from his youth that he hadn't been able to use as an actor yet.'
McCanick will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 9th. This is not the only film Monteith had finished just before his death, as Toronto Film Festival will also see the debut of his movie 'All The Wrong Reasons'.
