Every now and then a movie will do something that the rule books of yesteryear disapprove of; they break the fourth wall. They break down the barrier between us, the audience, and the world in which the movie is set, creating a weird, jarring, sometimes disconcerting but usually pretty cool experience. Done with panache, it can be a nice surprise amidst a movie that otherwise adheres to movie making text books.
