Verne Troyer, best known for his role in Austin Powers as Mini-Me, has died at the age of 49.
Troyer was born with achondroplasia dwarfism, which made him one of the smallest men in the world as a result. Earlier this month, Troyer was placed under involuntary psychiatric hold for 72 hours after friends contacted emergency services worried that Troyer was suicidal and drinking heavily.
Troyer battled alcoholism throughout most of his life, and was regularly in rehab for it. Per a statement from his family given to TMZ, Troyer passed away earlier today.
As well as appearing in Austin Powers, Troyer also starred in Jingle All The Way, Harry Potter & The Philosopher's Stone, and The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus.
