The trailer for Ruben Östlund's upcoming feature 'Triangle of Sadness' has landed, featuring a load of one-percenters having an awful time at sea.
The Swedish director is known for his satirical takes on society with films like 'Force Majeure'. When it comes to his latest film, this year's Palme D'or winner, it's no holds barred.
In 'Triangle of Sadness', social hierarchy is turned upside down, revealing the tawdry relationship between power and beauty. Celebrity model couple, Carl (Harris Dickinson) and Yaya (Charlbi Dean), are invited on a luxury cruise for the uber-rich, helmed by an unhinged boat captain (Woody Harrelson).
What first appeared Instagrammable ends catastrophically, leaving the survivors stranded on a desert island and fighting for survival.
The trailer for the black comedy is full of laughs but also... bodily fluids. Let's just say that being on a ship going through a storm doesn't seem like the most pleasant experience. It definitely looks like a seasick inducing watch.
Danish actress Vicki Berlin also stars alongside Henrik Dorsin, Zlatko Burić, Jean-Christophe Folly, Iris Berben, Sunnyi Melles, Amanda Walker, Oliver Ford Davies, Arvin Kananian, Carolina Gynning, Ralph Schicha and Dolly De Leon.
This is Östlund's second Palme D'or winning film. He won first for his 2017 flick 'The Square'. It also Neon's third consecutive winner at the festival, following up Julia Ducournau’s 'Titane' and Bong Joon-ho’s 'Parasite'.
