Nicholas Cage, man. What's his story? It's understood that he's had serious problems with tax and overspending, but now it looks like he truly doesn't give a crap anymore. Late last night, the first trailer debuted for his next film, Left Behind. Based on a bestselling series of books about - wait for it - THE RAPTURE.
What's that, you ask? According to US Christian fundamentalists, when the world ends, all the 'righteous' (read: everyone boring) will vanish and be taken up to Heaven to live with Jesus whilst those left behind have to face the Apocalypse. Which isn't cool, to be honest.
How does Nic Cage fit into all of this? He's an airline pilot that almost crashes when his co-pilot disappears during the Rapture. That's just rude. He was in the middle of something and then he bails. Typical.
