In our humble opinion Michael Mann is one of the finest directors working in modern cinema. His work is expansive, visually stunning and his characters always complex.
His latest film, Blackhat, stars Chris Hemsworth as a hacker who is released to help find a hacker who is threateningto bring down the world economy. As always with Mann, it's a beautiful looking film, and seems to have a lot going on.
Mann helmed the big screen adaptation of Miami Vice, which remains underrated to this day. His last film was Johnny Depp's best work in years, Public Enemies. He's also behind stone cold classics, Heat, Manhunter and The Insider.
