Another major movie release is going straight on demand, following the footsteps of 'Trolls World Tour'. Of course, Tom Hardy in gangster biopic 'Capone' will be for a very different audience.
This won't be the first time Tom Hardy has played a real life (larger than life) criminal, having previously performed as both Kray twins in 'Legend'.
But the actor will have even bigger shoes to fill stepping into the role of Al Capone, “America’s most notorious gangster.”
The biopic will portray the later years of the racketeer's life, and Hardy looks transformed as an aging, sickly Capone.
Director Josh Trank released the trailer on his Twitter account Wednesday.
He announced: "Will be on streaming! Planned as theatrical, but hopefully will be on the big screen later this year!"
Trank's previous credits include 'Chronicle' and 'Fantastic Four' (yup, the recent one).
The film, which worked under the title 'Fonzo', also stars Kyle MacLachlan, Linda Cardellini, Jack Lowden, Matt Dillon and Neal Brennan.
The official synopsis reads: “The 47-year old Al Capone, after 10 years in prison, starts suffering from dementia, and comes to be haunted by his violent past.”
