‘Call Me By Your Name’ fans will be delighted to hear that a tour revolving around the movie’s themes and locations is now available in Italy.
The tour is being offered by the first LGBT tour operator in Italy, Quiiky, and takes place over nine days with an emphasis on LGBTQ history and experiences throughout the trip.
According to Independent.co.uk, it includes eight nights’ accommodation, B&B, the services of a tour guide and car rental and takes in the cities and towns of Milan, Crema, Lake Garda, Verona, Venice and Bergamo.
The getaway begins in Milan with the first day wrapping up with an aperitif in Porta Venezia, the city’s LGBT district.
Guests then travel to Crema, where they will see many of the film’s memorable locations, including Duomo Square (which was visited by the film’s stars themselves, Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet, back in January), the Ricengo Lake, Pandino, and Capralba.
The itinerary includes a bicycle tour throughout Crema and Lodi, a cooking course, wine tasting and two nights at the Aqualux Hotel and spa.
According to the website: “With our arrival in the small town of Crema, the authentic heart of the Po Valley, we start to see the movie settings of Elio and Oliver’s love story.
“We follow their story to Catullus’ Caves in Sirmione on Lake Garda, Verona, and finally Bergamo, where Elio and Oliver exchange their kiss on a crazy summer evening.”
The tour package costs from €2,000.
Fans of the big screen can also explore other film-inspired tours offered by Roman Holiday Tours, which claims to take visitors around movie locations in Italy featured in ‘Roman Holiday’, ‘Angels and Demons’ and ‘La Grande Bellezza’.
‘Call Me By Your Name’ follows the blossoming romance between a seventeen year-old student and an older man, hired as his father's research assistant, in 1980s Italy.
Back in March, director Luca Guadagnino revealed some details for the film’s upcoming sequel.
