“Quantum Leap” creator Donald Bellisario has revealed he's written a feature version of the much-loved series.
Running from the late 1980s/early 1990s, it centered on Dr. Sam Beckett, who traveled through time, taking over the body of various figures throughout history - be it big or small.
The always watchable Scott Bakula starred opposite Dean Stockwell and while the show wasn't a ratings smash, it was passionately loved by viewers and remains a fan-favourite to this day.
Speaking at LA Comic Con, Bellisario said:
“I just finished writing a Quantum Leap feature. I don’t know what’s going to happen with it, but I did write it. I write things exactly the same way. I just start writing and I let them take me wherever it’s going to take me. I’m entertained the same way the audience is. So I just put Scott and Dean [Stockwell] in my head, kind of rebooted them, and went from there.”
That basically means he's written the script on spec, so no studio attached. That said, it could very easily sell given the brand recognition of the series name and the high regard it is still held in by fans all over the world.
