It's been a success story right from the get-go and now it seems like The Young Offenders is destined for even bigger things.
It's been announced today that The Young Offenders has secured an international distribution deal with Vertigo Releasing, which will see the Cork-set comedy screen in the U.S., Canada, New Zealand, Australia and the UK. So far, the film's scorched past €1,000,000 at the box office and is still showing in Irish cinemas.
In a statement, director Peter Foott said that "(having) our film reach such a huge audience is incredible and we are so happy it’s Vertigo who are taking us on this journey." Meanwhile, Vertigo's Rupert Preston and Ed Caffrey of Vertigo Releasing called The Young Offenders "one of the funniest and freshest films we’ve seen in years."
The Young Offenders is currently in cinemas.
