*POTENTIAL SPOILERS AHEAD*
After rumours had been circulating around for ages that Daniel Craig would be returning to the iconic role of 007, Craig revealed on Stephen Colbert last month that he would indeed reprise the role one last time.
‘Bond 25’, the working title of the movie, marks Craig’s fifth outing as the character, which will also see the return of regular Bond screenwriters Robert Wade and Neal Purvis (who were also the team behind Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre).
According to The New York Post's Page Six, there have already been leaks about the planned plot for the new film. A Hollywood insider told the publication that in ‘Bond 25’, “Bond quits the secret service, and he’s in love and gets married.” The source said that when his wife is killed, Bond is motivated to get back into action (so a bit like Casino Royale…).
In 2015’s Spectre, the last James Bond movie, Bond’s love interest was Dr Madeleine Swann, played by Léa Seydoux, and she is reportedly married to Bond from the opening of the new instalment. The source said “The film’s like ‘Taken’ with Bond,” and that the plot sees the superspy working to avenge his wife’s murder.
It’s unclear if the writers will rework the plot now that it has leaked. 'Bond 25' has a release date of November 8th 2019.
