The feature film follow-up to 2019's 'Captain Marvel' will see Brie Larson returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe - and fans are in for a treat, if the first teaser trailer is anything to go by.
Larson leads a trio of female superheroes, including Teyonah Parris from 'WandaVision' and Iman Vellani from Disney+ spin-off 'Ms. Marvel', in the continuation of the Carol Danvers (i.e. Ms. Marvel) origin story.
The teaser picks up where the 'Ms. Marvel' post-credit scene left off, where Kamala Khan swapped places with Carol; the new teaser trailer sees Captain Monica Rambeau morphing into Ms. Marvel while working alongside Nick Fury on the Saber Space Station.
The official synopsis reads: "Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.
"When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe."
The film, which also stars Park Seo-joon from 'Parasite', will be released in November.
