In some news that is somewhat surprising, but actually pretty awesome when you see who's behind it, THR are reporting that 80s action classic, Predator, is to be rebooted.
Now settle yourselves down there, you aggravated purists, and hear this; Shane Black (of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Iron Man 3) is the man who has been tasked with writing the treatment and directing the wannabe blockbuster. When said treatment is complete, he'll hand over screen writing duties to the man behind The Monster Squad, Fred Dekker. We may implode from excitement.
Shane Black also appears in the first film, as he dabbled with acting around the time he was scripting the likes of Lethal Weapon in the 80s and making loads of dough. The producers may have been trying to get him to rewrite it at the time.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3 and Monster Squad are all belting flicks. We couldn't be more excited.
Black is also attached to a Doc Savage movie and The Nice Guys, which may star Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.
