The remake of The Karate Kid, starring Will Smith's son Jaden and Jackie Chan, has scored the second highest test scores in the history of studio, Sony Columbia.

According to DarkHorizons.com, the kiddie action film got a 97% approval rating from test audiences who saw it. These "test screenings" are generally used as a barometer of how the studio should market the film etc. But more often than not, it's simply an indicator on how well a film will do. The buzz about The Hangover started after it tested through the roof.

The surprise here is that everyone thought this film was a bad idea, and no one expected it to be any good. It still might be crap, but it's obviously a crowd pleaser. Oh, and the film to score the highest every test score for Sony was Hitch; a romantic comedy starring... Will Smith.
