There's been endless arguments and dissections over which was better - 'Alien' or 'Aliens - and while there's no real answer to the question, seeing them in 70mm will surely add to the debate.
Next month - July 24th, to be precise - the Irish Film Institute is hosting a 70mm screening of James Cameron's 'Aliens' as part of its Dark Skies season. To be clear, this is the Theatrical Edition - not the Director's Cut - and that's not all, either. As we previously reported, '2001: A Space Odyssey' has been confirmed from August 10th on in 70mm, and as a complete change of pace, there's also 'The Sound Of Music' in 70mm from June 15th as well.
Your 70mm summer is here: The Sound of Music (from June 15th), Aliens (July 21st) and 2001: A Space Odyssey (from August 10th). All on sale right now and these are going to be gone very soon! https://t.co/96fzYnDVcn pic.twitter.com/0npsMbsxSN

'The Sound Of Music', 'Aliens' and then '2001: A Space Odyssey' - that's got to be the strangest line-up of movies to see, but whatever - 70mm is always worth watching.
Tickets are available now for all three screenings now, and you'd better get booking because they're all going to sell out quickly.
